Job Purpose:
The Authorised Person (Electrical LV Bias) will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of the low-voltage (LV) electrical systems within the data centre facility. The role involves acting as an Authorised Person under the site`s Electrical Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with local regulations, operational standards, and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical System Management
- Act as the designated Authorised Person for LV electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and inspection of LV electrical systems, including switchgear, distribution panels, and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct and supervise isolation, switching, and permitting activities for electrical systems in line with site procedures.
2. Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable electrical safety regulations and standards, including Dutch regulations and EU directives.
- Lead the preparation and implementation of safety documentation, including permits to work, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Conduct site audits and inspections to verify compliance with safety and operational standards.
3. Maintenance & Operations
- Coordinate and execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks for LV electrical systems.
- Respond promptly to electrical incidents, diagnose faults, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support data centre uptime and operational efficiency.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical activities, including switching logs, inspection reports, and maintenance schedules.
- Provide detailed reports on electrical system performance, faults, and resolutions to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the sites electrical safety documentation and procedures.
5. Training & Development
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contractors working on electrical systems.
- Attend training to maintain and enhance qualifications relevant to the role and the facilitys requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Certified Authorised Person or equivalent qualification in electrical systems (preferably LV).
- Proven experience in electrical system operations and maintenance within a critical environment, such as a data centre or similar facility.
- Strong understanding of Dutch electrical regulations, EU directives, and best practices.
- Proficiency in permit-to-work systems and safety documentation.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills on LV systems.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications in HV electrical systems or mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with BMS/EMS (Building/Energy Management Systems).
- Knowledge of critical power systems, including UPS, generators, and battery storage systems.
- Previous experience in an international or multi-cultural work environment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-availability environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with colleagues, contractors, and management.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
Additional Information:
- Working Hours: Rotational shifts or standard business hours with on-call duties as required.
- Location Requirements: Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands. Assistance with relocation may be provided for exceptional candidates.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a high-stress, physically demanding environment with exposure to electrical equipment.
