Design Manager – Dublin

AA Euro Group has been retained by a large established Irish contractor to recruit an experienced Design Manager to work on all Design aspects of a large scale Data Centre project in the Dublin region.
Permanent position with competitive salary or hourly rates on offer.
The Role:
- The Design Manager will lead and oversee the pre-contract technical service solution design function and team.
- The Design Manager oversees design, integration, deployment, and guides customers in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility and ROI studies.
- Provide a platform for good communication and coordination between Architects, Structural Engineers and Service Engineers who all work direct for the company CM on the project
- Ensure any Design development is communicated with the company CM and QS from a financial aspect
- Have good commercial and contractual awareness
- Hold and Lead workshop meetings with specialist Sub-Contractor
- Coordinate and track the submittal and approval process of Designs and materials ensuring Client Rep sign off and approval
- Look at risk/design problems by finding solutions with our Design Team before they materialize.
- Develop look ahead plans
- Plan and co-ordinate with site PM and SM making sure all parties are aligned
- Have good planning and programme skills
- Should have a good all-round knowledge of the construction industry across all disciplines including technical aspects of design and construction details etc.
- Should have a good understanding of building regulations BCAR, TGD, environmental – health and Safety regulations
- Attend Site Meetings and report on progress
Requirements:
- Strong project management experience
- Ability to assess electrical and mechanical capacity to make informed decisions.
- Proven demonstration of working with AutoCAD, Vision or similar
- Technical background
- Experience in commercial data centre, co-location environments considered an advantage
- Excellent Customer Service skills with a proven track record in developing client relationships.
- Ability to use systems including CRMs, salesforce a distinct advantage.
