Junior Buyer

My client is a progressive Building Contractor who are currently working on numerous Projects across Dublin including nursing homes, schools and office developments.
Due to the increase in workload, they have a vacancy for a Junior Buyer to join their team and work from their head office in North County Dublin
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
Role:

• Source and purchase construction materials, tools, and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage contracts.
• Track procurement costs, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate timely material deliveries and manage on-site inventory to avoid delays.
• Work closely with the Procurement Manager, project managers and site teams to ensure material needs align with project schedules.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulations and sustainability goal

Requirements:

• 1 3 years of experience in construction procurement or a related field
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Solid understanding of sourcing strategies, contract management, and purchasing best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organisation.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
