About the Role:
AA Euro Group have been retained to seek an experienced Materials and Logistics Controller to join our client`s dynamic team at a power/data centre plant in Dublin. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and transportation of materials to support ongoing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics or materials management, exceptional organisational skills, and a current forklift licence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials Coordination:
- Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on-site.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks and audits.
- Oversee the organisation and layout of storage areas for maximum efficiency.
- Logistics Planning:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers and transport teams to optimise delivery schedules.
- Monitor and manage freight costs, ensuring compliance with budget requirements.
- Operational Support:
- Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to forecast material requirements.
- Ensure the safe handling and movement of equipment and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of materials, deliveries, and logistics activities.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all site health and safety standards, including the proper use of PPE.
- Conduct regular equipment checks, including forklifts, to ensure safe operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and waste management regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a materials/logistics coordination role, preferably within the construction, power, or data centre sectors.
- A valid forklift licence is essential.
- Strong understanding of inventory management systems and logistics planning.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to materials handling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and relevant inventory management software.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- Certification or qualification in logistics, supply chain, or materials management.
- Experience working on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
