AA Euro Healthcare is welcoming applications from experienced social care professionals with strong leadership skills.

We are seeking a Night Support Worker for our well established client based in Cork City. The suitable candidate will be joining a leading Homeless service – 37.5 hours per week contract

The role will involve supporting homeless service users in B&B accommodation to secure sustainable housing solutions, accessing services and engaging with medical and other community-based services. Working as a part of the Homeless Action Team, the Night Support Worker will play a key role in providing case management for households in homeless services and/or at risk of homelessness, to help them address their housing needs.

Requirements for this role to include:
•   QQI level 8 in Social Care Degree or related area
•   Certificate in homelessness prevention and intervention (Desirable)
•   Have at least 1 years` experience working in the homelessness field or another suitably related area, desirably in a residential setting.
•   Understanding of risk management principles (Essential)
•   Capable of responding calmly in a crisis and using of own initiative to deal with incidents as they arise.
•   Understand why people become homeless and the issues they present with, and what supports can be offered in services to service users with complex needs.
•   Have an understanding of Health and Safety and requirements within a residential setting working with homeless people.
•   Manual handling qualification (Desirable)
•   Have an understanding of harm reduction and low threshold working

Duties of the role to include:
•   Work as a member of a multi-disciplined team in the best interests of the residents
•   Ensure that the house is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene including communal areas and bathrooms.
•   Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal and help in identifying own job-related development and training needs.
•   Ensure that all policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Code of Practice and Confidentiality.
