We are recruiting for a permanent full time Social Care Worker Shift Lead to join a leading Intellectual Disability residential facility based in Dingle, Co. Kerry.

Desirable Skills required

• Challenging Behaviour Course completed
• Training in positive behaviour support theory
• An understanding of New Directions model of day support services, as developed by the HSE.
• A full clean driver`s licence and own car is an essential requirement.

Essential Skills required

• QQI Level 7 Degree in Social Care or equivalent relevant qualification in Health/Social Care
• Must have 2 years` experience of working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities
• Safeguarding requirements including Trust in Care, and Children`s First
• Proficient IT skills – Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
• Able to follow plans and methods to meet the ongoing needs of the individuals supported.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety and risk assessment in residential support
• Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting the day to day running of the service and responsible for the execution and delivery of person-centred approach
• Report and recording and carrying out assessments.
• To assist the Person in charge in the preparation and monitoring of budgets
• Supporting staff members in relation to taking ownership of their work load, engaging in supervisions and participating in meetings both within and outside the service
• Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, and equality
• Adhere to GDPR legislation, ensuring the upmost confidentiality at all times and role model this to staff members.
• Participate in ensuring that the service is of a high quality and ready for Inspection from health organisation bodies at all times.
• Carry out required Health and Safety related observing and reporting
• To act as a Key Worker for specific individuals, ensure regular documented sessions of engagement in line with the person`s needs, identified goals and specific care requirements.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: €36,840.00-€48,465.00 per year
