June Monthly Round-Up 2021

Summer has finally started to appear and we are looking forward to what the upcoming months will have in store in our June Monthly Round-Up. 

We are again grateful to see a further easing of restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Holidaymakers will have been happy to see the reopening of hotels and other accommodation services. The nation was also delighted to see the reintroduction of the hospitality sector with outdoor dining, as we now wait to see if indoor hospitality will be reopened.

While restrictions have kept some workers remote, a phased return to the office setting is looking likely, but it is business as usual for our recruitment consultants.

Strong recovery set to take place with the Irish economy ready to bounce back and grow by 4.2%,  despite stringent measures from earlier in the year. The OECD said the economy is poised for a strong recovery with a marked rebound in spending driven by savings that have been accumulated by households during the lockdown.

Amazon looks set to build its second data centre in Drogheda, worth €4.5 million with 100 new jobs set to be created between the two sites and 400 additional construction jobs at peak of activity. This will be US online giant Amazon’s, second data centre in Drogheda, with the two sites set to consume more power than the whole of Kilkenny.

Managing your workplace and remote wellbeing is currently a key topic in the country as people continue to work from home during the pandemic. Recently, we asked our LinkedIn followers if they have any trouble switching off from work when outside business hours.
