Meet the Recruitment Expert: Sarah Murphy 2021

As part of our monthly activities, we would like to offer you the chance to meet a recruitment consultant from our valued team. This month we would like to introduce you to Sarah Murphy, an enthusiastic and hard-working team member.

SARAH MURPHY, RECRUITMENT RESOURCER

I started working in Euro Executive in November 2019. This was my first time working in a recruitment role and it was quite daunting at the beginning. I knew very little about the construction industry but was eager to learn. From week one a lot of time and effort went into training me on all aspects of the role which really put my mind at ease and I was ready for my next challenge.

My current role in Euro Executive is a Recruitment Resourcer. There is a clear progression path in this company which I am very excited about climbing.

Previously I was an Audit Administrator at the accounting company, Deloitte when I finished college. This role helped me to develop many of the skills that I have taken into my current position, including organisation, communication and time management skills.

I started off working here knowing absolutely nothing about the construction industry. It took some time for me to settle into the position as I was very unfamiliar with a lot of terminologies, but with the support of Denis, Ian and the rest of the team I am now confident in taking on all different types of roles in both the engineering and construction industry.

My favourite part about working here is the excitement of finding the right candidate their perfect role. This is where their journey begins, whether they are looking for a promotion or simply not happy with their current role. Changing jobs can be very daunting for a lot of people, so it’s very rewarding when you can find someone exactly what they’re looking for and make the transition as easy as possible for them. It’s like putting the final piece of jigsaw into place. There is a huge sense of satisfaction knowing that you found exactly what your client is looking for.

I am a hard worker and always put 110% into my work. “You’ll get out of it what you put in it” was something I vividly remember being said to me the first time I met Ian and Denis. This is so true and applies to life as much as it does in recruitment.

Passions

Travelling – whether it’s around Ireland or abroad my favourite thing to do is to go and see new places

I completed my Business and Management degree at Cork Institute of Technology
