Project Director

AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of large-scale data centre project in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This role will take full responsibility for the successful execution of projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
You will be the senior leader on the ground, driving programme, commercial performance, client relationships, and operational excellence on high-value, technically complex builds.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of end-to-end project delivery on major data centre developments (100M+)
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams including construction, commercial, planning, and MEP functions
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client, consultants, and key stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Drive programme performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
• Oversee procurement strategy and supply chain engagement across Europe
• Maintain strict adherence to health & safety regulations and company standards
• Manage and report on project financials, including cost control, forecasting, and margin protection
• Support pre-construction activities including bid strategy, value engineering, and technical input
• Lead commissioning and handover phases, ensuring full operational readiness

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in a Project Director / Senior Project Manager role within a Tier 1 or leading contractor
• Strong track record delivering large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects
• Background in construction, engineering, or related discipline
• Excellent commercial awareness and experience managing large project budgets
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage high-performing teams across multiple locations
• Experience working across European markets (travel or relocation flexibility required)
• In-depth understanding of MEP systems and complex building services integration
• Exceptional stakeholder management and client-facing ability

Desirable

• Experience working with hyperscale clients (e.g. tech firms, cloud providers)
• Multilingual capabilities
• Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
• Chartered status (or working towards)
