AA Euro Group are recruiting an MEP Design Manager to join a large Tier 1 Contractor working across multiple sectors.
The MEP Design Manager will be responsible for Managing the MEP design elements and interfaces of specific task or project dependent on size and complexity. They will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project ensuring that the design is delivered in line with the program requirements and is of a quality that reflects the budget constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the MEP design management procedure is being followed and implemented as appropriate on the projects.would include production and maintenance of the DRM, design program, RFI schedule, MIDP, (in conjunction with the CDE), IRS, statutory condition trackers, design change and risk trackers and design documentation required to achieve practical completion.
- Taking ownership of design related items within the tender process or within the construction phase including production of written narrative/presentation material.
- Having input into the selection of the design team including the production of the design team appointments (consultant and subcontractor) if directly employed or split of responsibility if traditional including DRM, scope, MIDP, program and fee.
- Understanding and providing solutions where possible, against the status of strategic design items within the tender/construction documents and in line with company procedures including planning, building control/BCAR, third party requirements, brand requirements etc.
- Ensuring the design recognises all aspects of health & safety, sustainability, and quality related matters.
- Working with the site team (incl. QS) to consider alternatives design solutions including MMC.
Skill/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in design management roles, with a proven track record on data centre or mission-critical projects.
- Experience working with a main contractor or large design consultancy on complex, high-value construction projects.
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RIBA, CIOB, ICE, CIBSE) is highly desirable.
